Video: One ref gets decked, another shows off ups

Big Ten officials were targets of flying bodies Saturday. First, an official leaped over a falling Tim Frazier in the Penn State-Illinois game, and then another had his legs taken out under him when Will Sheehey tried to make a hustle play on a ball going out of bounds in the Michigan State-Indiana game. Luckily, for John Higgins, he nailed the landing and avoided any injury. INSTANT HIGHLIGHT: Who says refs aren't athletic? Brent's Take: Wisconsin bowl struggles continue

Here’s a stat that’s hard to believe: Wisconsin’s 34-24 loss to South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl marks the program’s sixth defeat in its last seven bowl games. Yarina: My All-Big Ten Most Improved Team

With the nonconference season almost behind us and the conference season just a week away, it’s a good time to consider the Big Ten’s most improved players. There’s plenty of players to choose from, that’s for sure. See who made the cut for my all-improved team in this post. As it did vs. Penn State and Wisconsin this season, Ohio State will wear its home Nike “Rivalry” uniform in the Orange Bowl. For the first time since 2008, Illinois has Braggin’ Rights. The Illini held off rival Missouri, 65-64, in a thrilling back-and-forth affair Saturday at Scottrade Center. Poll: Best 2013 one-handed interception?

Who doesn’t like a good highlight-reel one-handed grab? Typically, the play is reserved for wide receivers, and plenty of Big Ten wideouts obliged this season. But a couple defensive backs, the guys who play defense because they don’t have the best hands, turned in two of the better one-handed grabs of the 2013 season. Watch both picks below. After that, vote for the best at the bottom of the post. B.J. Lowery at Iowa State: Kurtis Drummond vs. Western Michigan:

Clothes Call: A look back at new 2013 uniform designs

With the year quickly coming to a close, I decided to take a look at the new basketball and football uniform designs that debuted in 2013. Don’t worry, 2014 is certain to include just as many, if not more, new designs. Actually, I’m not so sure that’s a good thing. Either way, enjoy the look back.
