"Shannon Brooks is going to be a heck of a back," Kill said. "He reminds me of Marion Barber. He is fast, and he hits the holes."

Brooks supported his coach's claim with a silly 71-yard game-breaking touchdown run in Minnesota's 41-13 victory Saturday at Purdue. The talented back showed off his speed, power, shiftiness and everything else a great runner needs on the jaunt that the injury-depleted Gophers used to swing momentum in a must-win game.
