As is the case every week nowadays, several Big Ten teams wore new or alternate uniform designs in Week 6.

Indiana, playing at Penn State, was the most noticeable, donning its state flag helmet for the first time this season and wearing alternate red pants on the road for the first time in a long while.

Another first this season: Maryland was in all-white for its second road game, this one at No. 1 Ohio State.
