It's mid-May, so why not consider some ridiculously super-early bowl projections? That's what CBSSports.com and BTN contributor Jerry Palm decided to do. Palm released his bowl projections Friday, and he has Ohio State in the inaugural College Football Playoff, playing reigning national champ Florida State. In all, Palm forecasts seven Big Ten bowl teams. See his projections in this post.

Rose (national semifinal): Ohio State vs. Florida State
Fiesta: Wisconsin vs. Oregon
TaxSlayer: Iowa vs. Ole Miss
Outback: Michigan vs. Georgia
Capital One: Michigan State vs. LSU
Holiday: Nebraska vs. USC
Fight Hunger: Minnesota vs. Oregon State
Call me biased, but I think the Big Ten will have eight bowl teams, with the extra team being Indiana or Northwestern. Or, maybe Maryland — if it can navigate its grueling schedule. It's hard to see more than eight, though.
