Whew! What a week!
Things are always crazy here at BTN in late October, and this week it all came together for the PR team in true fashion, with something for fans of all kinds of sports.
First, we announced that for the first time BTN would air Big Ten Media Day for men?s and women?s basketball live on BTN, BTN2Go and the Big Ten Digital Network, as well as the lineup of our basketball shows this season. (ICYMI, you can find the best of this year?s Media Day here, courtesy of BTN.com?s Sean Merriman.)
Then, it was time to release the 2013-14 Wrestling Schedule. Wrestling has an engaged and passionate fan base, and folks were pleased that this season we?ll have our most extensive coverage ever.
The Big Ten Fall Championship schedule was next up, with coverage plans for field hockey, men?s and women?s soccer and men?s and women?s cross country.
We also helped launch the awareness campaign for BTN?s first feature-length documentary, Tiebreaker, which debuts at 7 PM ET on Nov. 16. Tiebreaker examines the aftermath of the 1973 Ohio State v. Michigan football game that ended in a 10-10 tie. With both teams sporting identical 7-0-1 conference records, Big Ten Athletic Directors were left to vote on which school would represent the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl. At that time, only one Big Ten team could play in a bowl game. In a controversial vote, the Big Ten Athletic Directors voted to send Ohio State to Pasadena. Michigan head coach Bo Schembechler called the decision ?the lowest day of my athletic career.?

Below is an image from a roundtable discussion that Stephen Bardo and Jim Jackson, two former B1G standouts and current BTN analysts, had with reporters from Iowa City, Columbus, Bloomington and Detroit following yesterday?s events.
