Last week, we posted about Ohio State junior mechanical engineering major Patrick Gallagher's really cool racing helmet. Gallagher, a racer for CJ Wilson Racing, wore a hand painted Ohio State helmet this past weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

The slick lid is still up for auction on ebay. As of this post, at 11:45 a.m. ET Monday, the top bid is $1,675. The auction closes at 10:30 p.m. ET Monday. All proceeds benefit the Hematosis and Thrombosis Center at the Nationwide Children?s Hospital in Columbus.

How did Gallagher, 20, perform in the special helmet? He finished fourth Saturday and sixth Sunday.
