Brent Yarina, BTN.com Senior Editor, October 25, 2012

As BTN.com editor I watch a lot of Big Ten basketball each season. Here are my selections from Big Ten Basketball Media Day. Our senior writer Tom Dienhart posted his similar list over here. Compare and contrast, and leave your selections at the bottom of my post. I'm sure fans have differing views.

STANDINGS
1. Indiana. So much depth, so much talent, and so many expectations.
2. Michigan. Only issue is leadership, with Zack Novak and Stu Douglass gone.
3. Michigan State. Adreian Payne and Derrick Nix's length will give foes fits.
4. Ohio State. Few talk about it, but there's talent around Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas.
5. Wisconsin. Jared Berggren, Sam Dekker and Ryan Evans form a nice frontcourt.
6. Minnesota. If Rodney Williams continues to improve, Gophers will be a force.
7. Iowa. Defense is an issue, but this is a young, exciting roster.
8. Purdue. Terone Johnson and D.J. Byrd welcome a new bunch of Baby Boilers.
9. Illinois. It'll be fascinating to see how vets of old regime accept new regime.
10. Northwestern. Drew Crawford and the Wildcats will miss suspended JerShon Cobb.
11. Penn State. As good as he is, Tim Frazier needs a sidekick to emerge.
12. Nebraska. Expect a struggle in Tim Miles' debut, Devaney Center's swan song.
