UNLV's Tim Cornett ran for 13 yards and one touchdown in the third quarter, giving the Rebels a 10-7 lead entering the final 15 minutes.
Cornett's one-yard touchdown run gave UNLV the its second lead after a five-play, 33-yard drive. The Rebels started in good field position when UNLV recovered a fumble.

Minnesota will start the fourth quarter with the ball on its own 29-yard line.
