Michigan State men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo and women’s basketball coach Suzy Merchant both made entertianment-themed entrances to the basketball teams’ Midnight Madness event Friday night. Izzo arrived as part of a “Mission Impossible” act while Merchant drew cheers when she had some fun at the expense of fans of Michigan State’s top rival.

Iowa basketball fans were treated to a fun night of festivities as Fran McCaffery’s team was introduced to the public at the Hawkeyes’ Black and Gold Blowout event on Friday evening. The night’s events included a team introduction, a dunk contest and a full scrimmage.
Indiana held its “Hoosier Hysteria” on Saturday night at Assembly Hall. Always a big draw, the event was even more anticipated this year as the Hoosiers, fresh off an impressive Sweet 16 season, are ranked No. 1 in several preseason national polls. The exciting Hoosiers did not disappoint the rabid Indiana faithful Saturday. It was a festive Friday night in Iowa city as the Iowa men’s and women’s basketball team held their “Black & Gold Blowout” event as part of the traditional “Midnight Madness.” See video highlights in this post, including a clip of Iowa men’s coach Fran McCaffrey and Iowa women’s coach Lisa Bluder each arriving in style.
