Yarina: My preseason All-Big Ten Offensive Team

The Big Ten football season kicks off in less than two weeks. Before Indiana (Indiana State) and Minnesota (UNLV) get things started Thursday, Aug. 29 on BTN/BTN2Go, it’s time to unveil my preseason All-Big Ten Offense. Who did I miss? Feel free to leave your submission in the comment section at the bottom of the post. I’ll post my defensive team later.

Brenden Gibbons is the best kicker in the B1G, huge miss there

Cody Latimer is the best WR in the conference, and its not even close.

You forgot Taylor Martinez. He should be your QB, not Braxton #GBR

No Spartans once again I fear Doug is crying in his beer tonight.

Brandon Scherff, OL of Iowa is a 1st round draft pick next spring. How is he not here?

Huge miss on the kicker, Jared? Why don’t we look at some numbers from last season. Brendan Gibbons: 16/18 FG, 45/45 PAT. Jeff Budzien: 19/20 FG, 50/50 PAT. Budzien’s sole miss was a 53-yarder against Nebraska — and that was just barely wide. Gibbons missed a 43-yarder against Notre Dame and a 44-yarder against Purdue. There’s only one stat in Gibbons’ favor: he hit a 52-yarder; Budzein’s longest was 44. But Budzien was 6/6 in the 40-49 yard range (Gibbons was 2/4), so I think he’s plenty accurate from distance. Gibbons was definitely good, but Budzien is the right choice for this list.

Derrick Green. About to run wild on the Big Ten!

Here is a more accurate all Big Ten offense.

Tackle – Taylor Lewan, Michigan
Tackle – Donovan Smith, Penn State
Guard – John Urschel, Penn State
Guard – Spencer Long, Nebraska
Center – Ty Howle, Penn State
Tight End – Jesse James, Penn State
Reciever – Allen Robinson, Penn State
Reciever – Cody Latimer, Indiana
Running Back – Venric Mark, Northwestern
Running Back – Zack Zwinak, Penn State

Concerned on 8/18/2013 @ 12:46pm EDT Said:

I left the QB position off the offense as the league’s top QB’s according to the press are really not quarterbacks. Too early to make even a guess.

Here is a realistic all league defense.

Defensive End – Deion Barnes, Penn State
Defensive End – Tyler Scott, Northwestern
Defensive Tackle – DaQuan Jones, Penn State
Defensive Tackle – Ra’Shede Hageman, Minnesota
Outside Linebacker – Mike Hull, Penn State
Outside Linebacker – Denicos Allen, Michigan State
Inside Linebacker – Glen Carson, Penn State
Safety – Malcolm Willis, Penn State
Safety – Adrian Amos, Penn State
Corner Back – Bradley Roby, Ohio State
Corner Back – Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State

Pretty entertaining. 12 Penn State players are all B1G? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Concerned….looks like your’re from State Penn…

Scott on 8/19/2013 @ 7:58pm EDT Said:

Too bad you picked the wrong QB….Taylor Martinez is gonna TEAR IT UP….and they pay you for this??

Craig OSU'72 on 8/19/2013 @ 8:07pm EDT Said:

State Penn and Penn State…what a talent pool…

Fuzz on 8/20/2013 @ 12:01am EDT Said:

Lol Cody Latimer? Please. Nebraska’s got 3 receivers alone who’re better than him, that’s why their stats aren’t astronomical. Because they’re all playmakers and reliable targets.

MCongemi on 8/21/2013 @ 11:30am EDT Said:

Wisconsin 2 backs (White n Gordon) are the best in the conference….period. What about Abberderis? A couple of misses.
