As it did last year, Michigan will wear a special adidas uniform for its bowl game, the 2013 Outback Bowl. Like last year’s look, this one is a white road uniform. It features several new wrinkles, of course, the most obvious being the addition of a matte helmet.
The matte helmet is the latest craze when it comes to lids nowadays, and the Wolverines have joined the craze. It might upset old-school fans who think one of the game’s most iconic helmets should never be touched, but Michigan has been making little tweaks (numbers & gray facemask) since Brady Hoke took over.

Another interesting part of the uniform is that it incorporates elements of Michigan’s home uniform, with the blue shoulders and maize numbers. Michigan’s normal road jersey features blue numbers outlined in maize.
The Wolverines, who are looking for their second straight bowl win, take on South Carolina at 1 p.m. Jan. 1.
