The Big Ten Network today announced coverage plans for the 2022 Big Ten men's and women's lacrosse seasons, televising at least 27 and streaming nearly 60 others on B1G+. Additional regular season events may be added to the schedule at a future date.
Big Ten women's lacrosse coverage opens on Tuesday, March 1, with a top five matchup when No. 3 Syracuse visits No. 6 Northwestern at 4 p.m. ET. Conference play begins on March 26 when the Wildcats visit No. 10 Michigan at noon ET. Additionally, BTN will televise the Big Ten women's lacrosse semifinals and championship game from Piscataway, May 6-8.
Big Ten men's lacrosse coverage begins with a pair of top 5 non-conference opponents, as No. 4 Notre Dame visits No. 8 Ohio State on March 12 and No. 1 Maryland takes on No. 2 Virginia at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 19. Conference play begins with the top-rated Terrapins visiting Penn State on Sunday, March 27, at 7 p.m. ET. BTN will also televise the Big Ten men's lacrosse semifinals from College Park, May 5-7.
The Big Ten Network's men's lacrosse coverage will be led by Joe Beninati (PxP) and Mark Dixon (analyst). Dean Linke (PxP) and analysts Sheehan Stanwick-Burch and Caley Chelios will anchor the women's lacrosse coverage.
The latest IWLCA Division I women's poll includes five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25, including No. 5 Maryland, No. 6 Northwestern, No. 10 Michigan, No. 14 Rutgers and No. 24 Johns Hopkins. The Maryland men's team takes the top spot in the latest Inside Lacrosse Division I men's poll, followed by No. 5 Rutgers, No. 8 Ohio State and No. 11 Johns Hopkins and No. 17 Michigan.
