The biggest thing that stands out: Multiple Week 1 Big Ten conference games, with three in 2020 and four in 2021, including Penn State at Wisconsin.
Let's take a look at each season's schedule, and highlight some of the interesting aspects.
2020
- There will be three conference games the opening Saturday, Sept. 5: Indiana at Wisconsin; Northwestern at Michigan State; Purdue at Nebraska.
- There will be Big Ten games each week except for Week 2, Sept. 12.
- On the third Saturday, Sept. 19, Iowa plays at rival Minnesota.
- The last teams to open Big Ten play? Illinois and Maryland, which don?t play their first conference game until Oct. 3, the first day of full-blown conference play.
- Nebraska plays at Iowa on Nov. 14. Since 2011, when the Huskers joined the Big Ten, the schools have met in the finale for the Heroes Trophy. Instead, the Hawkeyes will play host to Wisconsin in their finale, while the Cornhuskers welcome Minnesota for the final game.
- Big Ten East teams have five conference home games; West teams have four.
