Day 1: Big Ten Softball Tournament recaps and video

The 2016 Big Ten Softball Tournament got underway Thursday with four outstanding games.

In the first game, Ohio State topped Rutgers 5-0 to advance to a Friday game against Northwestern.

Illinois followed that with a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Michigan State. The Illini will play No. 2 Minnesota in a quarterfinal matchup on Friday.

No. 5 Nebraska cruised to an impressive 8-0 victory over No. 12 Purdue. The Huskers will advance to play No. 4 Penn State.

No. 9 Indiana closed out the action with a 4-0 win over No. 8 Wisconsin. Indiana will play No. 1-seeded Michigan in the Friday nightcap.
