This anonymous scout quote abt OSU's Eli Apple was, um, interesting:"The kid has no life skills. At all. Can't cook" https://t.co/03a8Tn3F6V— Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) April 27, 2016
The 2016 NFL Draft starts Thursday night in Chicago.
With only hours remaining before Roger Goodell takes the stage, the always-present anonymous sources are spewing the usual negative comments, many of which are laughable.
The latest: One anonymous scout questioning Ohio State defensive back Eli Apple's life skills, going as far as to say that he "can't cook." Read more about Apple's scouting report here.
If true, what exactly does it have to do with Apple's ability to cover a receiver, make an open-field tackle or be a good teammate?
Nothing at all. And, based on the Twitter reaction to the odd scouting report, the scout is wrong.
Btw, Eli's dad is a retired five star chef. We eat well. So stop playing with our name. Next time you say our name, put some respeck on it ?— Annie Apple (@SurvivinAmerica) April 27, 2016
And there's this.
Eli Apple on his maligned cooking: "I used to cook for my teammates any time they came over. It was good stuff! Nobody ever complained."— Robert Mays (@robertmays) April 27, 2016
For what it's worth, Ezekiel Elliott vouches for Apple's cooking.
Eli has made me some fire fried chicken and mac and cheese. The source seems to be pretty unreliable ??— Ezekiel Elliott (@EzekielElliott) April 27, 2016
