Illinois men's basketball coach John Groce suspended Leron Black indefinitely after a Thursday night incident that led to Black's arrest by police.
According to this report by the Champaign News-Gazette, University of Illinois Police said Black, 20, was arrested for aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened a security employee of the Canopy Club, 708 Goodwin, U.
In a Friday morning statement, Groce said, "We are aware of the incident involving Leron Black. He has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities as we await the legal process."
Black has missed 19 games this season with a knee injury. In his seven games this season, the sophomore averaged 4.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 14.3 minutes. As a freshman, Black played in all 33 games and started 10 times to finish sixth on the team in scoring with five points a game.
