Michigan State doesn't need an excuse to remember or honor Lacey Holsworth.

Holsworth's story captivated the nation. Her well-chronicled friendship with the Spartans, in particular then-star Adreian Payne, was something so genuine.
Neuroblastoma took Holsworth's life in April of 2014, but, with it being Coaches vs. Cancer Week, teams and coaching staffs across the country, not just Michigan State or the Big Ten, have worn gold shoelaces to honor "Princess Lacey" and support the fight against pediatric cancer.
It was the Spartans' turn Sunday night. Making the occasion all the more special, Lacey's parents, Heather and Matt, were at the Breslin Center for the game vs. Rutgers.
