That "chip on the shoulder" just keeps getting bigger and bigger for Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans.
Back in August, ESPN misspelled Dantonio's name on SportsCenter, referring to him as Mike D'Antoni, who was a former NBA head coach, most notably with the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks.
Now, another mishap on Dantonio's name has gone viral, this one coming on the cover of this week's Sports Illustrated.
The SI cover features MSU quarterback Connor Cook with the subhead reading, "How 'Mike' Dantonio rebuilt the Spartans."
Michael Rosenberg, a well-respected reporter who wrote the story, took to Twitter to admit the mistake and inform individuals that SI is re-printing the cover.
https://twitter.com/Rosenberg_Mike/status/677542840423976960Rosenberg also reminded people that writers do not write headlines for these stories.
Once the photo of the cover hit the internet, Twitter began to explode with reaction.
Here is a look at some of the top reactions.
Might be time Mark Dantonio gets the Mike Krzyzewski treatment. Only refer to him as "Coach D." Although, someone might say "Coach R" still.
