For the second consecutive season, the Big Ten put a conference record-tying 10 teams in the postseason.

Big Ten champion and No. 3 Michigan State highlights the conference's bowl slate, playing in the Cotton Bowl (national semis) vs. No. 2 Alabama. The Spartans will be looking to make it two consecutive national titles for the Big Ten, after Big Ten East rival Ohio State took last season's inaugural College Football Playoff.

INDIANA: The Hoosiers are bowling for the first time since 2007 and just the second time since 1993.

IOWA: The Hawkeyes are making their first Rose Bowl Game appearance since the 1990 season.

MICHIGAN: The game vs. Florida will mark the 33rd time the Wolverines have faced an SEC team in the postseason (23-8-1).

MICHIGAN STATE: The Spartans own a program-record four-game bowl winning streak, tied for the longest in Big Ten history.

MINNESOTA: The Gophers are making their fourth consecutive bowl appearance, just one shy of tying the team record.

NEBRASKA: The Huskers, who have made the postseason in 45 of the last 47 seasons, will play in their 52nd all-time bowl, the third-most of any school in the country.

NORTHWESTERN: The Wildcats, who won their last bowl game (2012 Gator Bowl), are seeking their third all-time bowl victory.

OHIO STATE: The Buckeyes have won their last three meetings vs. the Irish, including the 2006 Fiesta Bowl.

PENN STATE: The Nittany Lions are tied for third nationally with 28 bowl victories and are No. 2 in bowl winning percentage with a 28-15-2 post-season record (64.4) among schools with at least 20 postseason appearances.

WISCONSIN: The Badgers are making their Big Ten-best 14th consecutive bowl appearance.
