The Big Ten office dished out its weekly Big Ten men's basketball award winners on Monday afternoon. See the honorees below.

Player of the Week: Denzel Valentine, Michigan State G - Sr. - 6-5 - Lansing, Mich. - Sexton

  • Averaged 18.0 points, 11.5 assists and 9.5 rebounds per game in a pair of wins over #4/5 Kansas and Arkansas-Pine Bluff
  • Poured in a career-high 29 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and handed out a career-best 12 assists against the Jayhawks, becoming the fourth player in school history to record a triple-double
  • Chipped in seven points, dished out 11 assists and corralled seven rebounds to go along with two steals versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff
  • For the week, recorded a 7.6 assist/turnover ratio with 23 assists and just three turnovers
  • Earns his first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor

Freshman of the Week: Thomas Bryant, Indiana C - 6-11 - Rochester, N.Y. - Huntington Prep

  • Averaged 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in leading the Hoosiers to wins over Austin Peay and Creighton
  • For the week, shot 75.0 percent (12-of-16) from the field
  • Chipped in 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting and pulled down six rebounds in 21 minutes against Austin Peay
  • Scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, corralled seven rebounds, swiped four steals and handed out a pair of assists versus Creighton in the Gavitt Tipoff Games
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week honor
