The 2015 MLB regular season came to a close Sunday afternoon, so there's no better time to take a look at how former Big Ten players fared.
It was a strong season for several Big Ten names, in addition to a handful of Maryland, Nebraska and Rutgers products who starred at their schools before they entered the conference.
Seven players aren't done playing, either. Clayton Richard (Michigan) and Kyle Schwarber (Indiana), both with the Cubs, J.A. Happ (Northwestern) and Tony Watson (Nebraska), both with the Pirates, Brett Cecil (Maryland), of the Blue Jays, Alex Gordon (Nebraska), of the Royals, and Kevin Plawecki (Purdue), of the Mets, are all in the playoffs.
See ex-Big Ten players' 2015 stats in the gallery below:
Kyle Schwarber (Indiana), Chicago Cubs: .246 AVG, 16 HR, 43 RBI, 52 R, .842 OPS in 62 games
