A municipal judge dismissed an assault charge against Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo late Tuesday afternoon. This came after the alleged victim in the case said she did not wish to testify.
Carroo was charged with assault under domestic violence in connection with an incident that occurred outside the Hale Center on Sept. 12, following Rutgers' loss to Washington State.
According to a report from NJ.com, Carroo will have to attend six hours of anger management, and his lawyers acknowledged that officers had probable cause to file charges.
It remains unclear if Carroo, the leading returning wide receiver in the Big Ten, will be reinstated to the team.
Carroo recorded seven catches for a team-best 181 yards and three touchdowns before being suspended from the Rutgers football program.
The Scarlet Knights play host to No. 4 Michigan State at 8 p.m. ET Saturday night on BTN/BTN2Go.
