Illinois and Wisconsin carded convincing shutouts vs. Western Illinois and Miami (OH), respectively, and Jim Harbaugh recorded his first win at Michigan to highlight early Week 2 Big Ten action.

ILLINOIS 44, WESTERN ILLINOIS 0: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Wes Lunt threw for 316 yards and a touchdown Saturday to lead Illinois to its second-straight blowout win, 44-0 over Western Illinois. Lunt had 240 yards by halftime and Illinois (2-0) carried a 30-0 lead to the locker room. Geronimo Allison was Lunt's favorite target with eight catches for 124 yards.

BOWLING GREEN 48, MARYLAND 27: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Matt Johnson threw for a career-high six touchdowns, including two to Roger Lewis, leading Bowling Green to a 48-27 victory over Maryland on Saturday. Johnson also connected with Robbie Rhodes, Ryan Burbink, Derek Lee and Gehrig Dieter while throwing for 491 yards to best another career high set last week at Tennessee. Lewis' 200 receiving yards also marked a career high.

PURDUE 38, INDIANA STATE 14: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Austin Appleby threw four touchdown passes Saturday, including three of 50 yards or more during the first half, leading Purdue to a 38-14 victory against FCS opponent Indiana State. Appleby, who was intercepted four times during the Boilermakers' season-opening loss at Marshall, two of which were returned for touchdowns, redeemed himself against the Sycamores (1-1), helping Purdue (1-1) snap a seven-game losing streak.

WISCONSIN 58, MIAMI (OH) 0: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Stave threw for 236 yards and three scores, and safety Leo Musso had two of Wisconsin's three interceptions to hand Paul Chryst a 58-0 victory in his home debut as head coach. Rob Wheelwright had two touchdown catches for the Badgers (1-1), while Dare Ogunbowale ran for 112 yards and a 35-yard touchdown in place of injured starter Corey Clement.

MICHIGAN 35, OREGON STATE 7: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Jim Harbaugh was a winner in his home debut as Michigan's coach thanks in large part to De'Veon Smith's 126 yards rushing and three touchdowns that lifted the Wolverines to a 35-7 victory over Oregon State on Saturday. Michigan (1-1) got a few breaks in the pivotal second quarter and made the most of them against the Beavers (1-1), who gave up 35 straight points after scoring first.

PENN STATE 27, BUFFALO 14: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Penn State recovered from a sluggish start and outlasted Buffalo 27-14 through heavy rain at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. True freshmen Brandon Polk and Saquon Barkley each ran for touchdowns for Penn State (1-1) Christian Hackenberg completed 14 of 27 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown and Joey Julius kicked a pair of field goals in the 27-14 win.
