Problem is, the return was on the opening kick of the second half.
If you missed it, in an Autoland of Springfield, New Jersey, promotion, 100 random Scarlet Knights students were eligible to win $1,000 apiece, a total of $100,000, if the team returned the season's first kick for a touchdown.
Grant provided the fireworks one half too late, as far as Rutgers students are concerned, however the 80-yard return for a score on a kick that bounced in front of him was a pretty sight.
So close, Rutgers students, so close.
100 @RFootball students would have won $1K apiece if Rutgers returned the opening kick. So, of course, this happened. http://t.co/oK9qMSXVR1
