Illinois fans will have to wait an extra day to see their football team take the field.
The Fighting Illini's Friday night season opener against Kent State was postponed due to weather and will be played today (Saturday) at 1 p.m. CT. The game can be seen live on BTN2Go.
Friday night's game was scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. CT, but after three hours of weather delays, the decision was made to push the game to Saturday.
Illinois interim head coach Bill Cubit sent out the following tweet shortly after it was announced that the game would be postponed.
Minor setback! Big day tomorrow! Kickoff at 1pm. Recruits are welcome, registration begins at 11:00am! GO ILLINI
