Two-time defending national champ Penn State paces sits atop the the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches Preseason Poll, released Wednesday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions are one of four top 10 Big Ten teams, as Nebraska and 2014 Big Ten regular-season champ Wisconsin are tied for No. 5 and Illinois comes in at No. 8.
Ohio State (No. 14) and Michigan State (No. 19) round out the Big Ten teams in the opening poll.
Michigan, Minnesota and Purdue each received votes.
