Football season is drawing nearer, and that means it's time for BTN.com's annual Big Ten football uniform poll.

This year, Athlon's Braden Gall (@BradenGall), ESPN's Adam Rittenberg (@ESPNRittenberg), FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB), Lost Lettermen's Jim Weber (@JimMWeber) and SB Nation's Matt Brown/Luke Zimmerman (@MattSBN/@lukezim) joined the BTN.com team in ranking the designs.

Here's how this worked: Each of the eight writers ranked the Big Ten uniforms, from 1-14, considering teams' full game-day combinations, with an emphasis on the primary designs. First-place votes earned one point, second-place votes two points, and so on.

Scroll down to the bottom of the post to see how every writer voted.

Above, we have provided a poll, including our runaway top three vote-getters, for fans to vote on the Big Ten's best uniform.

Here are our 2015 results!

1. Michigan – 18 (3, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1, 6, 2). The winged helmet and the maize and blue home design is one of the game's most iconic looks.

2. Ohio State – 20 (6, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 3). There have been subtle changes over the years, but Ohio State's primary threads keep the Scarlet and Gray among the game's top uniforms.

3. Penn State – 22 (1, 4, 3, 3, 1, 6, 3, 1). Nameplates or not, the Nittany Lions' designs are simple, clean, timeless and absolute classics.

4. Michigan State – 41 (4, 5, 5, 7, 7, 5, 2, 6). The Big Ten's only team with green as a color looks its best in the sharp all-white road design it modified last season.

5. Nebraska – 44 (5, 3, 7, 5, 8, 4, 5, 7). Attention, Huskers: Please continue to incorporate the all-white road uniform that you brought back last season.

6. Iowa – 63 (2, 6, 12, 4, 11, 7, 13, 8). Don't know what to say other than, right or wrong, this is routinely one of the Big Ten's most polarizing uniform designs.

7. Wisconsin – 64 (7, 8, 9, 6, 9, 9, 7, 9). Basically the same design as Big Ten West rival Nebraska, only the Badgers' helmet isn't as classic and it has added a bunch of alternate lids.

T-8. Minnesota – 69 (8, 13, 11, 8, 5, 8, 12, 4). The biggest complaint about one of the Big Ten's most underrated set of uniforms is the distracting Nike collar design. Get rid of it.

T-8. Northwestern – 69 (11, 7, 4, 9, 14, 11, 8, 5). Points for the creativity and execution on the Northwestern Stripe, and for making purple look good.

10. Maryland – 73 (10, 11, 14, 13, 6, 3, 4, 12). The hardest Big Ten uniform to assess, due to its endless combinations, which range from subtle to loud.

11. Illinois – 83 (13, 10, 8, 14, 4, 10, 11, 13). Last year's Nike redesign was an improvement, but it still seems like Illinois could do better with a great color scheme.

12. Rutgers – 88 (14, 9, 6, 10, 13, 12, 10, 14). The Scarlet Knights bust out a monochromatic design every week, which isn't for everyone.

13. Purdue – 92 (9, 14, 13, 12, 12, 13, 9, 10). Nike has made Purdue "gold" more of a khaki, and it brings this collection down on the list.

14. Indiana – 94 (12, 12, 10, 11, 10, 14, 14, 11). Nothing to complain about with the jerseys, really, but the endless collection of, um, interesting helmets hurts the Hoosiers.
