The former Michigan State standout helped the Golden State Warriors close out the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 on Tuesday night.
The 2012 Big Ten Player of the Year saved one of his best efforts for the biggest game of his career, compiling a clutch triple-double (16 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists). In doing so, Green joined the prestigious group of Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, James Worthy, Tim Duncan and LeBron James as the only players to put up a triple double in Game 6 or 7.
Green is the first Big Ten player to win the NBA title since Juwan Howard in 2012-13, and the first Big Ten full-time starter since Glen Rice in 2000.
