The Illini are two wins away from Omaha, home of the College World Series, and only Vanderbilt, the reigning national champ, stands in the way.

The good news: Illinois hosts the best-of-three series at Illinois Field, where it is a program-best 25-2 and has rattled off 19 consecutive victories, the longest active streak in NCAA.

Things get started with Game 1 at 8 p.m. ET.

In Super Regional history, the first game has loomed very large.

In the Big Ten's other Super Regional, Virginia rallied past Maryland, 5-3, on Friday afternoon to take Game 1. The two longtime ACC rivals play Game 2 on Saturday afternoon.
