The national runner-up Michigan softball team returned home Thursday afternoon to a welcome back celebration at the Wilpon Softball Complex, home of Alumni Field.
The Wolverines lost to reigning national champ Florida in Game 3 of the WCWS championship series Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.
Yes, this team wanted to bring home the program's second NCAA title, but there was still plenty to celebrate on this afternoon in Ann Arbor.
After all, the Wolverines won the Big Ten regular-season title, Big Ten tourney, Ann Arbor Regional, Ann Arbor Super Regional and came within one win of the ultimate goal.
"I'm going to tell you, you don't have to pick us up, because you were there with us," Michigan coach Carol Hutchins told the crowd in the video above. "You've been with us all season. Many of you have been with us for many years. That's what makes Michigan great, and that's the Michigan difference."
