There are even lists that rank college mascots.

As part of its 15 for '15 series, NFL.com posted its ranking of college football's best mascots Wednesday afternoon.

Only two Big Ten mascots made the cut, believe it or not. The good news? Brutus the Buckeye did come in at No. 2.

Here's what the publication says about Ohio State's iconic mascot:

"Brutus is one of the more recognizable mascots in the country, and for good reason. Not only has Ohio State been winning impressively on the field, but Brutus' antics off of it have garnered plenty of attention. He's got plenty of energy, a great sense of humor and seems to be a regular at big-time events around college football. Not bad for a giant nut."

The only other Big Ten mascot on the list: Bucky the Badger, who opened the list at No. 15.

Oregon's duck took the top spot, for what it's worth.
