That's how close the Hawkeyes were to losing their Big Ten tournament opener to No. 7 Ohio State and facing the prospect of having to win five consecutive games to take the tourney crown.
Day had other ideas, blasting the two-strike pitch over the left field wall for a dramatic two-run, walk-off home run to stun the Buckeyes, 3-2.
Talk about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Look at how excited the Hawkeyes were as they waited for Day to circle the bases, and how dejected left fielder Ronnie Dawson was.

And, how about this nugget?
That Nick Day home run is his 1st against a Big Ten team in his four-year Iowa career and 4th overall. #Hawkeyes #clutch
