Illinois is the hottest team in the nation, and it's finally a top 5 team, according to the latest USA Today Sports Baseball Coaches Poll, released Monday.

The Illini (43-6-1, 19-1), winners of 24 consecutive games, both a program record and the nation's longest active streak, moved up to No. 5 after sweeping Rutgers, their sixth straight Big Ten sweep.

Iowa (37-12, 18-3), which sits in second place in the Big Ten, moved up three spots, to No. 17, following a sweep of Minnesota.

Maryland is receiving 34 votes, the most of any unranked team, while Ohio State garnered five votes.
