If anyone thought the calendar flipping to May would cool off the Illinois baseball team, he/she was sorely wrong.
Illinois, which went 16-0 in April, took a 6-2 victory Sunday at Ohio State to clinch the series sweep and extend its program-record winning streak to 21.
The seventh-ranked Illini outscored the 25th-ranked Buckeyes, 20-8, in the sweep, their fifth consecutive unblemished Big Ten series.
First baseman David Kerian did it with the bat, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, and John Kravetz allowed two runs over four innings to improve to 5-0.
As expected, the Illini continue to enjoy their hot streak. Just check out the video in the tweet above.
