The 2015 NFL Draft is fast approaching, which means teams are finalizing their boards as the big day nears. Every NFL organization has a need somewhere, and that is what makes the draft such a fun event.

Some of those needs will be filled by former Big Ten stars, such as Brandon Scherff, Trae Waynes and Randy Gregory, among others. But where will the former Big Ten stars land?

I combined my knowledge of the subject with recent mock drafts from the likes of ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL.com and CBS Sports to come up with this list.

With that said, here is a look at five of this year's top Big Ten draft prospects and where they could potentially call home — assuming there are no trades, of course.

The NFL draft is April 30-May 2 in Chicago.

1. Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa

Projected draft spot: Early first round

Three potential teams:

1. New York Jets, 6th pick – Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN
2. New York Giants, 9th pick – Peter Schrager, Fox Sports
3. St. Louis Rams, 10th pick – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com

My pick: New York Giants

2. Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State

Projected draft spot: Early-mid first round

Three potential teams:

1. Minnesota Vikings, 11th pick – Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN
2. Miami Dolphins, 14th pick – Peter Schrager, Fox Sports
3. San Francisco 49ers, 15th pick – Todd McShay, ESPN

My pick: Minnesota Vikings

3. Randy Gregory, OLB, Nebraska Cornhuskers

Projected draft spot: Early-mid first round

Three potential teams:

1. New York Jets, 6th pick – Todd McShay, ESPN
2. Atlanta Falcons, 8th pick – Peter Schrager, Fox Sports
3. New Orleans Saints, 13th pick – Peter Prisco, CBS Sports

My pick: New Orleans Saints

4. Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin

Projected draft spot: Mid-late first round

Three potential teams:

1. Arizona Cardinals, 24th pick – Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN
2. Baltimore Ravens, 26th pick – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com
3. Dallas Cowboys, 27th pick – Peter Schrager, Fox Sports

My pick: Arizona Cardinals

5. Devin Funchess, WR/TE, Michigan

Projected draft spot: Late first-early second round

Three potential teams:

1. Cincinnati Bengals, 21st pick – Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN
2. Minnesota Vikings, 45th pick – Peter Schrager, Fox Sports
3. Baltimore Ravens, 58th pick – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com

My pick: Baltimore Ravens
