In recent years, Big Ten teams have embraced the idea that spring football games are about more than the action inside the white lines.

Yes, the fans want to see the heralded early arrivals, the rising sophomores who showed promise in the fall and the fresh talent under center, among countless other things.

But few will argue that entertainment and human interest stories don't enhance the events. Stuff like Sparty lining up in the backfield every year or Jack Hoffman, the young cancer patient and Nebraska fan, melting hearts with his memorable touchdown run two years ago.

Last spring, the Big Ten added a dance-off (watch above), a coach taking the field with a cat in hands (watch below) and a marriage proposal, to name a few, to the whole spring football experience.

We can't wait to see what the Big Ten has in store this year.
