The Big Ten's two newest teams, Maryland and Rutgers, registered their first Big Ten wins Saturday.

The Terrapins swept Minnesota in a doubleheader, 5-1 and 12-9, while the Scarlet Knights knocked off Purdue, 4-1, after dropping Friday's Big Ten opener.

Illinois 5, USF 2
In the quickest game of the season so far, No. 18 Illinois clinched its third straight series victory with a 5-2 win over USF. Starter Drasen Johnson pitched into the eighth inning to earn his third win.

Iowa 6, Kansas 4
Iowa (13-5) rebounded from its series-opening loss to Kansas (9-13) on Friday night with a 6-4 victory over the Jayhawks in game two Saturday at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence, Kansas. Read full recap.

Junior right-hander Kevin Mooney notched a five-out save in game two to break Maryland?s all-time saves record as No. 14 Maryland took both games of a doubleheader against Minnesota on Saturday afternoon. Read full recap.

Rutgers 4, Purdue 1
Junior Howie Brey pitched seven strong innings to lead Rutgers to its first Big Ten win, 4-1, over Purdue Saturday at Alexander Field. With the victory, the Scarlet Knights evened the three-game series. Read full recap.

Nebraska 5, Michigan 1
Behind a five-run first inning and a career-high nine strikeouts from Kyle Kubat, Nebraska clinched a series win over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday afternoon at Hawks Field with a 5-1 victory. Read full recap.

Northwestern 13/8, UNLV 12/11
The Wildcats outhit the Rebels in Saturday's nightcap, 14-11, but it was not enough as UNLV claimed an 11-8 win to prevent Northwestern from a doubleheader sweep on Saturday night. Read full recap.

Senior closer Trace Dempsey tied the Ohio State career saves record to seal a 6-5 win for the Ohio State baseball team over Michigan State Saturday afternoon at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Read full recap.
