It's been a season full of close losses for Penn State.
In D.J. Newbill's final regular-season game Sunday at Minnesota, the Big Ten's leading scorer wasn't about to let the Nittany Lions suffer another heartbreak.
With the score tied and the clock winding down, Newbill took his time before calmly getting into position to launch a deep 3-pointer, with a defender in his face. He nailed the difficult trey to give Penn State the 79-76 win.
Newbill must have known it was going in, because he waited until the clock nearly expired. Or, maybe he didn't want to give Minnesota a chance to win it in regulation and was fine going to overtime.
Whatever the case, this was such a clutch shot.
Ayyyy S/o to my bro @djnewbill game winner tonight at Minnesota!!! Big time player making big time shots!!! #allbigten
