Big Ten dual champion Iowa and Ohio State, the host team, tied for the Big Ten Championships crown, both amassing 120 points.

The Hawkeyes could have made it an outright crown with a Bobby Telford heavyweight victory in the event's final matchup, but Northwestern's Mike McMullan was victorious, much to the delight of the Ohio State fans.

The result marked just the sixth time the Big Ten Wrestling Championships ended in a tie.

Minnesota recorded 108 points to finish in third, while Michigan (101.5) and Penn State (96.5), the four-time reigning champ and NCAA champ, finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
