Russell Wilson and four other former Big Ten players on the Seattle Seahawks are headed to Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Arizona.
Despite one of the worst games of his career, Wilson threw the game-winning touchdown pass on the opening possession of overtime to send the Seahawks past Green Bay, 28-22, on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game.
Wilson, who also ran for a touchdown and tossed four interceptions, connected with Jermaine Kearse on a 35-yard touchdown to give Seattle the opportunity to defend its Super Bowl crown.
The Seahawks will take on the Indianapolis-New England winner in the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.
Here's how ex-Big Ten players on the Seahawks fared Sunday:
Cliff Avril, DE (Purdue): 3 tackles, 1 sack
Gary Gilliam, OT (Penn State): 1 rec., 19 yards, 1 TD
Tony Moeaki, TE (Iowa): N/A
O?Brien Schofield, DE (Wisconsin): 2 tackles
Russell Wilson, QB (Wisconsin): 14-29, 209 yards 1 TD, 4 INT; 7 car., 25 yards, 1 TD
