Turns out, Ohio State will wear its new Nike home alternate that honors the 1968 national championship team in the inaugural playoff.

On Monday morning, Nike (@usnikefootball) tweeted pictures of the new "Mach Speed" uniforms that No. 4 Ohio State and No. 2 Oregon will wear for the national title game January 12 in Arlington, Texas.

Oregon is the higher seed, however it chose to wear white, according to @McMurphy. Both higher seeds (No. 1 Alabama and Oregon) wore new Nike alternate home uniforms in the national semifinals.

No real complaints with these alternates. These are clean and simple looks that won't be distracting on the biggest stage. That said, it is interesting that Oregon's design doesn't feature green or yellow, the school's colors.
