And, we're off! It was the opening day of the Big Ten men's basketball season Tuesday, and there were four entertaining games on the docket.
No. 11 Maryland held off Michigan State, 68-66, in double overtime of its Big Ten debut to highlight the opening day's action. Another game went to overtime, too, as Michigan rallied to force the extra session and take down Illinois.
In other action, Iowa went into Columbus and upset No. 18 Ohio State and Northwestern held off Rutgers in the Scarlet Knights' Big Ten opener.

NORTHWESTERN 51, RUTGERS 47: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Bryant McIntosh had 17 points and hit the game-sealing free throws as Northwestern hung on to defeat Rutgers 51-47 on Tuesday. Tre Demps added 16 points for the Wildcats (10-4, 1-0 Big Ten).
IOWA 71, OHIO STATE 65: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Jarrod Uthoff scored 18 points and Aaron White added 17 to lead Iowa past No. 20 Ohio State 71-65 Tuesday in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
MICHIGAN 73, ILLINOIS 65 – OT: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Ricky Doyle scored Michigan's last seven points in regulation to force overtime and the Wolverines rallied to beat Illinois, 73-65, Tuesday. Aubrey Dawkins erupted for a career-high 20 points, too.
MARYLAND 68, MICHIGAN STATE 66 – 2OT: BOX | PBP | AP RECAP
Dez Wells scored 16 points, including a tying 3 with 2.2 seconds left in regulation, and No. 12 Maryland earned a 68-66 double-overtime win over Michigan State on Tuesday night in the Terrapins' first-ever Big Ten game.
