Wisconsin junior running back Melvin Gordon set the single-game FBS rushing record today in the Badgers' 59-24 victory vs. Nebraska.
Gordon ran for 408 yards, breaking Tomlinson's record of 406, which was set back on Nov. 20, 1999, vs. UTEP.
The most impressive part of Gordon's memorable day — He broke the record with a full quarter of football left in the game. He did not play in the fourth quarter.
Tomlinson was quick to congratulate Gordon on social media following the record-breaking run.
That kid @Melvingordon25 bad!! Congrats on breaking the NCAA single game rushing record. #respect
