Indiana and Michigan men's basketball teams carded exhibition wins Monday night.

The Hoosiers held off Indianapolis, 76-63, while the Wolverines blitzed Wayne State, 86-43.

The story of the night, though, belonged to Michigan's Austin Hatch. Get all of the best from Monday night's exhibition action and read more about Hatch's big moment inside.

Biggest surprise: Indiana, while undermanned due to a few suspensions, fell behind Indianapolis, 17-6, in the opening five minutes. It simply wasn't pretty early on.

Biggest scare: Michigan point guard Derrick Walton Jr. hit the floor hard after driving for an And-1 in the second half. The sophomore landed on his backside and went back to the locker room to get checked out, before returning moments later.

Best statline: Robert Johnson, Indiana. Not only did the freshman tally the night's lone double-double, going for 15 points and 10 rebounds, he hit all six of his field goal attempts, including a pair of triples. Oh, and he added three assists, for good measure.

Best moment: With 1:41 left in Michigan's exhibition, Austin Hatch entered the game to a roaring ovation, and for good reason. If you haven't heard, Hatch survived two plane crashes, the latest three years ago. Then, with 12 seconds left, Hatch was fouled and went to the line for two free throws. After missing the first, he drained the second, and John Beilein took him out for a well-deserved curtain call. Excellent stuff.

Best play: Spike Albrecht stole a Wayne State behind-the-back pass, led Michigan in transition, and delivered a behind-the-back pass of his own to Caris LeVert, who hammered it home to complete the nifty play.

Best dunk: No real debate here, as heralded Indiana freshman James Blackmon Jr. threw down a first-half poster dunk vs. Indianapolis. It was nice.
