The second College Football Playoff Poll was released Tuesday night.
The Big Ten is shut out of the top four spots, which went to Mississippi State (No. 1), Florida State (No. 2), Auburn (No. 3) and Oregon (No. 4). Michigan State stayed at No. 8 this week.
Nebraska moved up two spots, to No. 13, while Ohio State jumped two spots, as well, to No. 14. Wisconsin debuts in the poll at No. 25.
While the Big Ten would have no team in the playoff if the season ended today, there's still plenty of time. Plus, Michigan State hosts Ohio State on Saturday night, which could give the Spartans – or Buckeyes – resume quite a boost.
The final rankings come out Dec. 7 on College Football Playoff Selection Day. This year's semifinal sites are the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl.
