Northwestern's Matthew Harris was knocked out of Saturday's game after tackling Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg near the sideline late in the third quarter. Hackenberg was sprinting to the left when Harris took him down near Penn State's bench.
Medical personnel attended to Harris while Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald stood over his player. Harris did give the "thumbs up" sign as he was carted off the field.
Later in the game, BTN's Tina Cervasio reported from the sideline that the medical teams said Harris was responsive from the moment they got to him, but that they took him to the hospital to be extra safe. See Cervasio's full report in the tweet below.
