Darrell Hazell announced Monday that sophomore Danny Etling will be Purdue's starting quarterback. Etling, the incumbent after starting seven games in 2013, battled fellow sophomore Austin Appleby for the starting gig in training camp.

Etling completed 149-of-267 passes (56 percent) for 1,690 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
