Sam Travis is one of the Big Ten's best baseball players. He'll be an early pick in this week's MLB First-Year Player of the Draft. Clearly, the 2014 Big Ten Player of the Year knows how to motivate himself. You can't have the success he's had in baseball without that ability to learn from disappointments.
Indiana's season didn't end how Travis or any of the Hoosiers envisioned. After all, this was the Big Ten regular season and postseason champ, the program that broke the Big Ten's CWS-less streak with a memorable run to Omaha last summer.
The encore season came to a premature end with a walk-off loss to Stanford on Monday night in the Bloomington Regional title game.
It didn't take long for Travis to find motivation. Check out this photo of two young dejected Indiana fans, one wearing Travis' No. 6 and the other wearing teammate Kyle Schwarber's No. 10.
I play the game cause I love it. But it's the failure of the game & photos like this that make me come back stronger. pic.twitter.com/sCvd8bfvIa
