Saturday featured a quartet of Big Ten men's hoops games. Northwestern kicked off the action with an upset win over Indiana at Assembly Hall. Michigan followed with an impressive road win over No. 3 Wisconsin, while Purdue edged out Penn State and Michigan State cruised to a win over Illinois. Michigan and Michigan State remain the only unbeaten teams in Big Ten play this season.

MICHIGAN STATE 78, ILLINOIS 62 | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) Gary Harris scored 23 points and Denzel Valentine pulled down 11 rebounds to lead No. 4 Michigan State past Illinois 78-62 on Saturday night. The Spartans (17-1, 6-0 Big Ten) stayed on top of the Big Ten with their 10th straight win. With the victory, Michigan State is also off to the best start in team history. No Spartans team has ever won 17 of its first 18.

(AP) Nik Stauskus scored 23 points and hit a key 3 with 48 seconds left, and Michigan fended off a late surge for a 77-70 win Saturday over No. 3 Wisconsin. Caris LeVert added 20 for the Wolverines (13-4, 5-0 Big Ten), who held on for their first road win at Wisconsin since 1999 after nearly squandering a 15-point lead. The Badgers (16-2, 3-2) went on a 14-2 run late, and Ben Brust's putback got them within 68-67 with about 2 minutes left.

(AP) Tre Demps scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half and Northwestern defeated Indiana 54-47 on Saturday. Drew Crawford added 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Wildcats (9-10, 2-4 Big Ten) won their first Big Ten road game since Jan. 17, 2013, at Illinois. Kale Abrahamson added 9 points for Northwestern, which won despite shooting 19-of-51 (37.3 percent). Noah Vonleh had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Hoosiers (12-6, 2-3), who shot just 25 percent (15-of-60).

Kendall Stephens and Basil Smotherman each scored 12 points for the Boilermakers (13-5, 3-2 Big Ten), who have won three straight Big Ten games for the first time since February 2012.
