Tonight at 10 p.m. ET BTN Originals presents a new episode of Big Ten Elite presented by Chase featuring the 1989 National Champion Michigan Wolverines men?s basketball team. The show looks back at an unforgettable season in Ann Arbor that saw the Wolverines, led by Glen Rice, overcome the adversity of head coach Bill Frieder leaving to take the Arizona State head job just prior to the start of the 1989 NCAA Tournament.
The show will also be available live on BTN2Go.
Interim head coach Steve Fisher rode the hot hand of Rice throughout a remarkable run to the Final Four. In an epic National Championship game, Michigan?s Rumeal Robinson calmly sank two free throws with seconds remaining to help Wolverines secure the National Championship.
The show features interviews with Rice, Frieder, Fisher, Sean Higgins, Terry Mills and Mike Griffin and also includes behind-the-scenes locker room footage throughout the NCAA Tournament.
Here are some early reviews.
